THE FIRST OF ITS KIND

When BollyWorks was established over a decade ago, there was a non-existent Bollywood dance scene in Pacific Northwest. Since then, our studio has grown tremendously spreading the joy of bollywood dance to thousands of students all around Washington State. In classes and on stage, BollyWorks has transformed the local Bollywood dance scene.

Where it all started.

Founded by Arundhati Baitmangalkar, a former instructor and show manager at the Shiamak Davar Dance Company, and a yoga and fitness instructor, our studio has revolutionized local Bollywood dance classes over the past decade.

Arundhati pioneered Bollywood dance instructor training programs, making Bollywood dance more accessible and professional. Today, many of the city's instructors, dance studios, and gym Bollywood instructors are certified and trained in the BollyWorks method, spreading the joy of Bollywood dance near and far.

Our classes cater to all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced dancers, including those who believe they have two left feet.

All our instructors are trained in-house and are dedicated to helping you start your dance journey. What are you waiting for? Join us and experience the magic of Bollywood dance!

Instructor

Smitha R.

Smitha started dance as a child exploring a classical style called Bharatnatyam. That's when she fell in love with dance. She reconnected with her dance passion when BollyWorks started training instructors to make Bollywood more accessible in the local area. Having been with us since 2018, Smitha's classes are always filled with fun tracks, new songs and a good workout session. She teaches at Redmond. When not dancing, she's busy with her IT career, being a mom & exploring new fitness formats.

Instructor

Kanika B.

Kanika has been part of the BollyWorks family since 2018, starting her journey with Project Bollywood. Dance has always been her go-to way to recharge, express herself, and have fun. Over the years, she’s enjoyed growing with the community and staying involved both on and off the dance floor. She has also been part of the core design team for past Project Bollywood events, contributing her creativity behind the scenes. By day, Kanika is a UX Designer, and that perspective carries into her classes—clear, engaging, and easy to follow. Her classes focus on joyful movement, expressive Bollywood energy, and creating a welcoming space where everyone can feel confident and enjoy the experience.

Instructor

Kavya P.

Kavya is a high-energy dancer who thrives on movement, music, and rhythm. When she’s not lighting up the dance floor, she keeps active in the gym and crunches numbers by day as a data scientist. Off the studio floor, you’ll usually find her hanging out with dogs—her biggest weakness and favorite source of joy. For Kavya, dance is all about confidence, connection, and, above all, having fun!

Instructor

Aishwarya R.

Aishu has been a trained Bharatanatyam dancer since the age of six, and dance has always been her happiest form of self-expression. A consultant by day and a dancer at heart, she loves the grace of classical just as much as the high-energy vibe of kuthu, truly the best of both worlds! Having recently moved to Seattle, Bollyworks has inspired her to dust off her dancing shoes and get back on the floor. When she’s not dancing, she’s just as passionate about sports. She’s super excited to groove, learn, and share lots of fun energy with all of you!

Instructor

Pooja R.

I fell in love with Zumba because it’s the one hour of the day where you can turn off your brain and just move. With a background in Kathak, Bharatnatyam and off course Bollywood, I make sure the energy stays high and the heart rate stays up from start to finish. High energy, zero judgment, and 100% fun -- My classes feel less like a workout and more like a dance party with friends.

Tessa Headshot.jpg

Instructor

Tessa W.

Tessa joined BollyWorks as a dancer for our Project Bollywood performances back in 2019. Her passion for Bollywood dance grew quickly and strongly. She made it her life's mission to learn the ins and outs of Bollywood dance since then. Today, Tessa is a testament that if you put your mind to it - Bollywood dance can be for everyone. Her classes are fun, energetic, and the perfect pick me up at the end of the day. When not dancing, she's a mom of 3, enjoys reading, hiking and indulging in her hobbies. She teaches at our Bellevue location.

Studio Manager

Janessa H.

Janessa is the BollyWorks behind-the-scenes superhero. As our Studio Manager, she keeps things running smoothly allowing all our teachers to focus on dancing with you! Anytime you need any of your non-dance requests handled you'll hear us say, "ask Janessa" often. When she's not managing the studio, she enjoys hiking in the woods with the dog she belongs to or attending a fun movement class.

You've got questions, we've got answers

If you don't see your question below and can't find the answer on our website, please reach out to us via email admin@bollyworks.com and we'll be glad to help.

I don't have dance experience, are your classes suitable for beginners?

Yes! Our cardio and choreography classes are suitable for everyone, including those who have no dance experience. Occasionally we offer advanced choreography classes but they will be labeled accordingly.

Do you offer any bollywood dance classes for kids?

At this time, we are not currently offering any kids dance classes. Our classes are suitable for anyone 15 years old or older.

What's the difference between choreography and cardio classes?

If you're just looking for a no commitment way to get a fun workout in, cardio classes are the best choice. If you'd like a more structured dance class with a commitment to a few consecutive classes, dressing up and filming the routine at the end,  choreography is a fun option!

I'm not sure if Bollywood dance is my thing, can I take a free trial class?

In order for our small business to maintain the studios and high-quality instructors, we do not offer free trial classes. You can purchase a drop in pass to attend a single class. We're confident you'll be back for more. :)

Do you offer choreography for weddings or private events?

Our availability is limited, but you're welcome to email us at admin@bollyworks.com with your request and details of the event and we will determine if we can accomodate your request.

Do you allow walk-ins into your classes?

You are strongly discouraged from just showing up for class. We kindly ask that you register and reserve your spot in class beforehand. Many of our classes run full and we do not want to have to turn walk-in students away at the door.

I tried calling the studio but it keeps going to voicemail. How can I reach someone?

We work remotely during non-class hours, so the quickest way to reach us is by emailing

admin@bollyworks.com. Voicemails will be returned as soon as possible. Voicemails left over the weekend will be returned the next business day.

I've changed my mind, can I get a refund for my pass?

Our passes are non-refundable. For more information on this and other studio policies, please check out the studio policy section.

What should I wear to class?

Normal workout/dance attire is appropriate for all classes. To maintain the integrity of our studio floors, we kindly ask that you bring clean indoor shoes to dance in or plan to dance barefoot.

What is the cancellation window if my plans change?

We have a 12-hour cancellation window. Classes cancelled within 12 hours from the start of class will lose that pass credit. You can cancel classes directly from your Wellness Living account.
