BollyWorks was founded in early 2012 by Arundhati Baitmangalkar. When she moved to the greater Seattle area, she noticed a lack of authentic, professional bollywood dance schools. Being a professionally trained dancer and ex-instructor at the Shiamak Davar’s dance company for close to 8 years, she created BollyWorks as a platform for people to enjoy bollywood dance, fitness and de-stress.
“Bollywood dance is a great way to get fit. It is hands down one of the most fun ways to get fit and have fun while doing so. You can now find a bollywood dance class pretty much all over the globe.” Arundhati, Creative Director
BollyWorks offers bollywood choreography and fitness classes for adults. Drawing from Arundhati’s extensive bollywood dance background, BollyWorks offers authentic, high quality bollywood, unique and fun bollywood choreography. At BollyWorks, we encourage participants to step out of their comfort zones by learning different bollywood dance routines and warm ups.
What is Project Bollywood?
Project Bollywood© is an annual student show created and produced by BollyWorks. Every year, Project Bollywood© show proceeds are donated to a specific charity picked at the year end. Training for the show begins in September and ends in March every year. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, Project Bollywood© has something for everyone. All students are trained in a minimum of 3 songs for the show.
The show while being a fundraiser is geared to provide all participants an experience of what it takes to be a professional dancer, to step out of their comfort zones, to challenge themselves and be an inspiration to themselves and others.
